Group Therapy.

All Groups are held virtually

DBT skills training group is designed to be an adjunct treatment to individuals already participating in DBT with an individual provider. Skills group focus on the learning and application of the four skills modules established by Dr. Marsha Linehan to help individuals living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) , emotion dysregulation (ED), and problematic behaviors.

Groups will be comprised of either the individual diagnosed with or family member of someone living with BPD or ED.

Having a person in your life who has difficulty with self-destructive patterns, trouble controlling their emotions, explosive relationships, and chronic hopelessness can be isolating, exhausting, and terrifying. DBT for family members or loved ones of someone with BPD or ED focuses on education, skills training, and support. This group is not designed to take the place of individual or family therapy but serves as a critical adjunct to help you navigate these challenging dynamics.

In our DBT groups, you will learn practical skills to manage your own emotional responses, communicate more effectively, and support your loved one without losing yourself in the process. The group offers a safe and supportive environment where you can share your experiences and gain insights from others who are on a similar journey. Remember, seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it is a courageous step towards creating a healthier, more balanced life for you and your loved ones.

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

Are you parenting a child or adolescent who struggles with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)?

Often treatment is offered solely to the child through cognitive behavior therapy (CBT)- leaving you as the caregiver to struggle with finding ways to manage your child’s emotions and symptoms.

SPACE was created by Dr. Eli Liebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center to help parents and caregivers increase their tools and skills in dealing with an emotionally dysregulated child. By working with parents and caregivers treatment focuses on making change to your behaviors without having the child present in session.

Treatment aims to help improve: separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, fears and phobias, panic disorder and agoraphobia, selective mutism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The SPACE treatment protocol is designed to occur over the course of approximately 12 sessions, but will be tailored to meet each families unique needs. The two primary changes you can expect to make are reducing individual and family accommodations and finding new ways to increase supportive responses.
